HAPPY NEW YEARS! Hope you are all doing well and are as excited as I am to have started a brand new year! I can’t believe it’s 2017! Time flies faster and faster, the older you get I think. I don’t know about you guys but as soon as winter comes with that annoying combination of dry heat indoors and that biting cold wind that hits your skin the second you step outside, I have to change up my skincare routine. Today I wanted to share the products I’m currently using every day and night but loving. For my routine I try and keep everything as minimal as possible, because I don’t want to spend too much time on my face and also want to be as quick as I can without having to pile on layers upon layers of skincare products.
Step 1: I use the Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser, which I apply onto some cotton pads and wipe all over my face and neck. In the morning, it’s a bit more of a quick cleanse and a freshen because I would have done a bit more of a deeper cleanse the night before. This cleanser is by far my favourite of all time. It has plant extracts too (Moringa seed extract – which aims to neutralise the effects of pollution & Orange extract – which refreshes, tones and revitalises the skin) It’s beyond gentle, yet breaks down impurities / makeup / sweat and leaves your skin feeling clean without stripping it. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
Step 2: After cleansing, I get a couple more cotton pads and use the Avene Cleanance Toner which I believe has different packaging now so I apologize for the dated packaging. This seems to have lasted me absolutely ages. Even though the Clarins Cleanser states to cleanse and tone, I do like to use this toner. I feel as though it eliminates impurities even further and also brightens the skin for a more natural and radiant look. Like the cleanser, I just sweep it all over the face, prepping my skin for the moisturiser.
Step 3: As for moisturising, I use the No7 Beautiful Skin Day & Night Cream. I love this range of moisturisers. They’re rich without being heavy, glide on like a dream, and a little goes a long way. These happen to be one of the very few moisturisers I can actually use on my face without irritation and with good results. The funny thing is, I can put loads of acid on my skin with no issue (not advisable), but with “gentle” moisturisers, they can make my face feel like it’s on fire. A bonus to the creams is that they’re enriched with multivitamins and mineral blends to help hydrate and energise the skin plus it also has rosehip oil to help lock in moisture.
Additional Step: When my skin feels like it needs a good scrub / exfoliate I use the Sukin Revitalising Facial Scrub. I apply a small amount to my fingertips, then in a circular motion, massage into face and neck, then rinse with warm water. It just gives the skin a nice deep cleanse on days where I feel like my skin isnt it’s best. I like the whole concept of this brand too: it’s vegan, animal cruelty free, and sulphate and paraben free. It’s just a general great scrub which leaves my skin feeling really radiant and clean. I definitely want to try out some more of their products!
Leave me a comment, telling me what skincare products are your favourite. Again, happy new year to you all! Here’s to 2017! *raises glass*
